The speed read:

This small, successful, long-running agency needs another designer/developer to deliver great client work.

The facts:

You will be working in a small team with the 2 founders. They have steadily built a great reputation with their clients and thrive on referrals. Their client base includes SMEs, podcast networks, food and drink businesses, education groups and more. So it’s really varied, interesting work.

Day to day you will be using WordPress. You will be happy to work with clients to produce great looking, functional websites. You like solving problems. You can look at how a website is structured, do the wireframing and have an understanding of UX and the customer journey.

You may have trained as a graphic designer, have taught yourself some front end development and want to keep developing and growing in this area. It’s important that you can take designs created in Photoshop or XD and turn into custom WordPress themes. You need to understand this process very well. We are not looking for a designer who has used WordPress a little and added content. This role is more than that. A design eye and interest will put you in great stead, but the weight of the role will be on development.

You will mainly be using WordPress (and some php and Javascript, with a desire to learn more). You will be also be building templates, updating plug ins and helping with the hosting of the sites you build.

This is a permanent wfh role (even without Covid), but you will be happy to meet for catch ups and project briefings as necessary. You will need to be accessible to London for this.

Ideal level of experience is 2-3 years agency experience, so that you understand the process of designing and developing websites for clients. You might have graphic design training and be self-taught in WordPress, which is fine. Personality and fit are very important in this team.

You’ll be:
– Really happy in a small team (in fact, you prefer it).
– A continuous learner
– Very easy going, but takes responsibility
– Great with detail and content

Ideal superpower:

All round team player that loves design as much as tidy websites
