US

The Ministry of Sound opened in 1991 in a disused bus garage in a forgotten corner of South London. It was the first nightclub in the UK to have a 24-hour licence, didn’t serve alcohol and featured an earth-shaking sound system in a

specially constructed dance box.

We went on to become the world’s largest independent record company (now with Sony), and stage giant dance events, including one for 50,000 people at the o2 to celebrate the Millennium.

Thirty years later we opened The Ministry, a workspace run as a member’s club, in a 50,000 sq. ft Victorian warehouse in SE1. There’s great food, a state-of-the-art gym and fitness studio with daily classes, together with a cultural and business events programme. The building has its own events and conference space, therefore we package and host

these events for internal members and external clients.

As a business we don’t take ourselves too seriously, like to laugh and have fun, but we have high standards, a relentless attention to detail and the continuous improvement of our product as we work hard as a team.

We hate cliché, doing things the way others do and continuously seek to differentiate our brands and products almost as a point of pride.

YOU

We are looking for a Fitness Event Business Manager to lead the development, launch, and scaling of our exciting new fitness event business. Your key responsibilities will include strategic planning and business development,

creating a comprehensive business plan for launching a fitness-focused event in key markets, starting in London with ambitions to scale internationally and beyond.

You will be able to identify market opportunities, analyse competitor landscapes and define key objectives for growth.

You will build strategic partnerships with fitness brands, influencers, venues, and technology platforms to create standout experiences.

You will lead negotiations with vendors, sponsors, and partners to maximise all revenue opportunities.

You will oversee the development of our new concept, ensuring alignment with our tone of voice, ethos and unique visual identity, collaborating with artists, fitness experts and production crew.

You’ll manage the end-to-end execution of events, ensuring seamless operations, from venue selection to staffing and event-day logistics.

You’ll develop scalable processes for international event management, including budgeting, scheduling, and supplier management, ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety protocols in each location.

You’ll lead the development of marketing campaigns to promote events, working with the digital marketing and social media team to drive engagement and ticket sales.

You’ll be able to leverage our existing fan base to identify new target demographics through data-driven insights.

You’ll create and execute strategies for building awareness of our new venture, fostering community, and encouraging audience loyalty across global markets.

You’ll manage the fitness business P&L, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning, monitoring and reporting on the performance of the business, providing key insights and recommendations to senior leaders.

You’ll develop KPIs to measure the success of events and business growth.

You’ll build and manage a team of event producers, fitness coaches, marketing specialists and brand partners / partnership managers to foster a culture of collaboration and excellence across the team.

Providing leadership and mentoring to junior team members to encourage growth and skill development.

You would ideally have 5+ years’ experience in event curation/management within the fitness industry and at least 2-years’ experience in managing teams or collaborating with multiple departments within a business.

You must have a strong knowledge of the fitness and wellbeing sector, including trends, key players, and consumer behaviour.

You’ll have a proven track record of launching and scaling a business, ideally in the events or fitness world.

You’ll possess exceptional project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects across different locations.

You’ll hold experience in managing P&L, budgeting, and financial forecasting.

You’ll demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including external partners.

You must have an innate passion for fitness, people, and creating immersive experiences.

You’ll need a willingness to travel as required, and happy to be office based 5 days per week.

You’ll hold a strong network within the fitness industry, including key fitness influencers, brands and product contacts.

  • Collaborative Spirit: Be ready to work on multiple ideas without getting too attached, knowing that collaboration and refinement are key to creating outstanding final products.
  • Experimental Thinking: Have a willingness to push the boundaries of what’s expected in design, trying new techniques, styles, or even mediums to bring brands to life.

What You’ll Get from KISS

  • Creative Freedom: The chance to push boundaries and try out bold, new ideas on exciting projects.
  • Growth Opportunities: One-to-one mentoring from the founders, learning directly from industry experts.
  • Studio Environment: A beautiful office on the riverside in Leeds, with flexible hybrid working options.
  • Work-Life Balance: 35-hour working week, with 20 days of holiday (plus bank holidays), your birthday off, and a discretionary extended Christmas break.
  • Exciting Projects: You’ll work on projects that span a wide range of industries, from hospitality to retail to social enterprises.

Our diversity, equality and inclusion POV
At KISS, we believe that creativity thrives on diverse perspectives and unique voices. We’re committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, no matter their background, identity, or experience is valued and empowered to be their authentic self.

How to Apply
If you’re a designer who loves being brands and exploring concepts, and you’re ready to bring energy to your work, we’d love to hear from you.
Send your CV and portfolio, with a little bio, written or video telling us why you’re a great fit for the role to matt@kissbranding.co.uk.

We want to see your sketches, experiments, and how you work—the process that isn’t always visible in the final design. Show us the rough drafts, the ideas that evolved, and the creative mess behind your best work. We value how you think and create as much as the finished product.

The role involves coordinating design reviews internally prior to work being sent out, as well as booking internal reviews and brainstorming sessions. Raising invoices and purchase orders, as well as liaising on outstanding invoices. You’ll feel well-equipped to source quotes and get suppliers on board for suitable jobs, as well as predict busy periods so we can line up freelancers.
  • Confident.
Feeling comfortable in a fast-paced environment is imperative, as is the ability to be spontaneous and reprioritise work depending on the day to day activity in the studio.
  • Informed.
You will have vast experience in the creative design process and a strong knowledge of production techniques, suppliers and materials.
  • Communicative.
Dialogue is core to your role. You will be talking frequently to clients via email and calls, as well as the design team. You will need to be confident in what you’re talking about, articulating clearly and in a timely fashion. You will also need to understand how to handle tricky conversations and how to flex tone and style to different clients based on their expectations.
