Join the creative team at Middlesex University and help bring our brand to life.
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Junior Designer to support the delivery of high-quality creative design across digital and print. Working within our design team and reporting to the Brand and Design Marketing Manager, you will help create engaging visual communications that strengthen the University’s brand and stand out in the competitive higher education market. This is an exciting opportunity for a designer who has gained some experience and enjoys working across a wide variety of projects, from designing digital and social media assets to producing print materials such as prospectuses and event banners.
What you’ll be doing: Translating design briefs from internal teams into effective visual solutions. Collaborating with the wider marketing team, particularly on our recruitment campaigns, and managing multiple projects to tight deadlines. Designing digital assets for websites, social media, video, email templates and online advertising. Producing creative print materials including leaflets, banners, display stands, and promotional items. Creating engaging graphics such as illustrations and infographics that resonate with target audiences. Preparing print-ready artwork and liaising with printers and external agencies. Maintaining and uploading assets to the digital image library. Staying up to date with design trends to help keep our communications fresh and innovative.
Essential requirements: Degree in design or equivalent relevant experience. Experience working in a design studio or creative environment. Strong portfolio demonstrating digital and print design work. Experience preparing artwork for print and working with printers. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion including accessibility awareness in design Desirable: Experience in higher education or large in-house marketing teams. Experience working with advertising agencies. Understanding of HTML/CSS and email/web design techniques.
