The Design and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the production and visual presentation of LGIU’s services and communications materials.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the postholder will ensure that LGIU’s written, visual and multimedia outputs are professionally presented, accessible and consistent with LGIU’s brand and style.  The role will support the Communications and Marketing function in ensuring that LGIU’s insights and services are communicated clearly and effectively to members, partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design and Production

  • Design and produce LGIU publications, including reports, briefings, presentations and marketing materials.
  • Create visual assets such as graphics, charts and promotional materials.
  • Format, prepare and upload written content for publication across digital platforms.
  • Ensure outputs are visually clear, accessible and consistent with LGIU’s design standards.
  • Produce and edit short video content to support the promotion of LGIU research, events and services across digital channels.

Marketing and Communications

  • Support the delivery of marketing and communications campaigns across LGIU channels.
  • Assist in the preparation of newsletters, promotional materials and communications content.
  • Draft and prepare written and visual materials to promote LGIU services, events and publications.
  • Produce graphics and other visual assets to support communications activity.
  • Cover LGIU events to gather and produce relevant media material, including write-ups, social media assets, interviews, photography and videography.  

Branding and Visual Identity

  • Support the implementation and development of LGIU’s visual identity and design guidelines.
  • Ensure consistency of branding across publications and communications materials.
  • Contribute ideas to improve the visual presentation and accessibility of LGIU outputs.

Internal

  • Work collaboratively across the organisation to support the production of LGIU outputs.
  • Provide advice and support to colleagues on layout, formatting and visual presentation.
  • Support the continuous improvement of processes for producing and publishing LGIU outputs.
  • Maintain a library of approved templates and collateral.
