Design Manager

Bonfire Collective | Interiors

Residential + Development-Driven Design

About Bonfire Collective

Bonfire Collective is an integrated real estate platform spanning development, interiors, construction, and wholesale. We design and build residential product at scale—prioritizing clarity, efficiency, and a controlled experience from concept through delivery. Our Interiors division exists to support development, sales, and construction—not bespoke one-off design.

We’re building a lean, high-performing design team and are seeking a Design Manager to help lead that effort.

The Role

This is a leadership and coordination role—not a heads-down drafting position.

The Design Manager oversees the execution of interior design across multiple residential projects, ensuring that design intent, specifications, budgets, and timelines align across development, interiors, and construction teams.

You will manage process, people, and deliverables—while staying close enough to design and documentation to maintain quality, consistency, and buildability.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Coordination

  1. Oversee interior design execution across multiple residential projects
  2. Translate design vision into clear, buildable, repeatable systems
  3. Maintain consistency across finish palettes, specifications, and standards
  4. Guide value engineering without sacrificing design integrity
  5. Review and coordinate interior scope within Revit-based project workflows

Project & Process Management

  1. Own interior design timelines, milestones, and handoffs
  2. Coordinate with Development, Construction PMs, and consultants
  3. Manage the transition of specs and documentation into Procore
  4. Ensure Programma/spec book accuracy and ongoing audits
  5. Ensure interior documentation aligns with architectural Revit models

Team Management

  1. Support and manage designers and spec-focused team members as the team scales
  2. Set expectations, workflows, and quality control standards
  3. Reduce bottlenecks by improving systems—not adding unnecessary complexity

Cross-Team Communication

  1. Act as a bridge between interiors, architecture, construction, and development
  2. Participate in internal reviews and coordination meetings
  3. Support buyer-facing conversations when needed (not the primary focus)

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  1. 7–12+ years in interior design, architecture, or design management
  2. Strong experience in residential development, multifamily, or repeatable product
  3. Revit experience is required
  4. Ability to review, coordinate, and contribute to Revit-based interior scopes
  5. Comfortable working within shared architectural models
  6. Strong understanding of construction documentation and specifications
  7. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Mindset

  1. Systems-oriented and process-driven
  2. Comfortable balancing design quality with cost and schedule
  3. Collaborative, pragmatic, and accountable

Tools

  1. Revit (required)
  2. Programma, Procore, or similar platforms preferred

Compensation

  1. Competitive salary, dependent on experience
  2. Growth opportunity as the Interiors division scales
  3. Long-term leadership potential
