About Yellowball

We’re Yellowball – a fast-growing, boutique digital agency based in London, best known for high-impact websites, SEO, and paid media.

With over 100 five-star reviews and 250+ websites launched, we’re trusted by ambitious startups and established brands alike to deliver digital that genuinely drives results. We combine creative firepower with strategic focus, designing and building websites that don’t just look good – they perform.

Based moments from Borough Market, with a flexible hybrid working setup, Yellowball is a place for designers who care deeply about craft, outcomes, and doing work they’re proud to put their name to.

The Role

As a UX / Web Designer at Yellowball, you’ll play a key role in shaping best-in-class digital experiences for clients across a wide range of industries.

You’ll work closely with our Head of Design, senior designers, developers, and project managers – owning UX and UI design across bespoke website projects, landing pages, and supporting digital assets. This is a hands-on role for a designer who obsesses over detail, thinks strategically about user journeys, and understands how design supports commercial outcomes.

While the role is design-led, you’ll collaborate closely with our WordPress development team, and hands-on CMS experience will be a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing intuitive, conversion-focused UX and high-quality UI for bespoke websites and landing pages
  • Working primarily in Figma to produce high-fidelity designs and interactive prototypes
  • Using the Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) where appropriate for digital and brand assets
  • Collaborating with senior designers and developers to take projects from brief through to launch
  • Working within clearly defined design sprints and agreed time allocations, delivering work on schedule and in line with project budgets
  • Accurately estimating effort, managing your time effectively, and flagging risks early where scope or timelines may be impacted
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously and communicating progress clearly with internal teams and clients
  • Working predominantly on web projects, with occasional digital and print assets including brand collateral, social media assets, pitch decks, and proposals
  • Participating in client calls and workshops, contributing to UX thinking and design decision-making
  • Staying up to date with UX, UI, and digital design trends, tools, and best practices
  • Supporting internal Yellowball marketing projects, helping evolve and elevate our own brand and website

What We’re Looking For

  • A proven ability to produce consistently high-quality, on-brief creative work – we genuinely obsess over every pixel
  • Exceptional Figma experience is non-negotiable – this is our primary design tool
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • A solid understanding of UX principles, user-centred design, and conversion-led thinking
  • Proven experience working within sprint-based workflows, with a clear understanding of time allocation, priorities, and delivery schedules
  • Comfortable balancing creativity with commercial realities – delivering exceptional work on-brief, on-time, and within agreed hours
  • Experience designing websites that are both visually refined and commercially effective
  • Hands-on experience working with WordPress, ideally using ACF Pro and the Gutenberg editor (highly desirable, but not essential)
  • Confident managing clients and stakeholders, contributing to a consistently high standard of client experience
  • Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally
  • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing your own workload transparently
  • A portfolio that demonstrates depth, variety, and thoughtful UX decision-making
  • A genuine passion for digital design and continuous improvement

A university degree or formal design training is a plus, but not required – we care far more about the quality of your portfolio, your thinking, and your approach.

Salary & Benefits

At Yellowball, we believe in rewarding talent, commitment, and delivery.

  • Competitive salary, based on experience (guide £45,000 – £50,000)
  • Flexible working – this is a UK-based role. We work from our London Bridge office, but offer hybrid working with at least one day per week in London
  • Optional 4-day working week – opt-in and delivered as a 9-day fortnight. This does not reduce hours; instead, hours are condensed so you get every other Friday off.
  • Generous annual leave – 25 days per year plus bank holidays
  • Pension contributions – competitive employer contribution of 7.5%
  • Monthly team socials – from Flight Club and crazy golf to our annual Christmas party. Always optional, never forced
  • The best tools for the job – MacBooks as standard, plus any additional equipment you need to do your best work

Why Join Yellowball?

This is more than just a design role – it’s an opportunity to make a real impact.

At Yellowball, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Work on high-profile, bespoke website projects that prioritise quality and results
  • Influence UX and design standards across the agency
  • Collaborate with a highly experienced, multidisciplinary team of designers, developers, SEO and PPC specialists
  • Grow your skills and career within a fast-moving, ambitious digital agency
  • Play a meaningful role in shaping the future of one of the UK’s most exciting boutique agencies

Hiring Process

Our hiring process is designed to identify the very best talent while respecting your time:

– Introductory screening call: a conversation with one of the founders to discuss your experience, aspirations, and fit for the role

– Take-home design task & final interview: you’ll complete a short design task and present your thinking to our senior team, giving you the opportunity to showcase both your craft and your approach

If you’re a UX-focused designer who values precision, delivery, and building digital experiences that genuinely work – we’d love to hear from you.
