Graphic Designer / Studio Manager

Location: Shepherd’s Bush, London
Type: Full time, studio based

Ilex Studio is looking for a Graphic Designer / Studio Manager to join our growing team in London. This is a hands on role for a creative, organised, and technically capable designer who wants responsibility within a small, design led company working with products sold globally.

The role combines graphic design, content creation, packaging, and studio management. It suits someone with a strong interest in nature, art, and thoughtful product design, who enjoys both creative work and practical, day to day studio leadership.

About the Role

As Graphic Designer / Studio Manager, you will lead visual communication across the brand while managing the day to day running of the studio. You will work closely with the founder and global sales team, and manage a small team to ensure creative quality, operational efficiency, and consistent brand standards.
 

Key Responsibilities
 

Creative & Design

• Maintain a high quality, consistent visual aesthetic across all brand touchpoints
• Lead the creative development and execution of visual communication
• Design compelling visuals for digital, print, and experiential environments
• Create print marketing materials and packaging
• Lead packaging development and preparation
• Prepare visuals, drawings, and production specifications
• Create presentation materials for business, sales, and customer communications
• Collaborate with product, programme, and communications teams to devise engaging ways of communicating our products

Content & Digital

• Lead content creation for Instagram @acornvase and @avocado_vase
• Oversee and contribute to product photography and image editing
• Update and maintain the website, including images, copy, and product information
• Write, design, and schedule email campaigns
• Create, schedule, and oversee social media content

Studio Management & Operations

• Manage studio stock and inventory
• Manage two studio assistants
• Set daily tasks and priorities for studio assistants
• Ensure the studio space is organised, efficient, and well run
• Oversee daily mail outs
• Maintain clear studio workflows and standards
• Sell directly to customers when required

You Should Apply If You

• Have a diverse portfolio demonstrating high quality design across multiple styles and disciplines

• Have a strong understanding of typography, colour theory, layout, and composition
• Are experienced in communicating complex or abstract products through design
• Are confident building presentations and visualising proposals
• Take a meticulous, pixel perfect approach to design
• Can independently manage multiple projects, anticipate challenges, and deliver considered solutions
• Have a quick learning curve and strong intellectual curiosity
• Are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro
• Experience with After Effects is a plus
