Location: Shepherd’s Bush, London
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per year
Hours: Monday–Friday | In-studio role
Ilex Studio is looking for a Design Associate to join our growing team in Shepherd’s Bush, London. This is a hands-on role for a creative and technically capable designer who wants to be involved in product development from concept through to production, while also supporting trade fairs, manufacturing, and logistics.
About the Role
As a Design Associate, you will work closely with the studio team on the development of new products and the refinement of existing ones. You’ll liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, and the global sales team to ensure designs are produced accurately and efficiently. The role also includes contributing to the design and build of trade fair stands, as well as supporting stock tracking and logistics.
This position suits someone who enjoys combining creative thinking with technical problem-solving and practical making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products from initial concept to production
- Work with manufacturers and suppliers to support production and quality control
- Liaise with the global sales team to support product availability and launches
- Assist with the design, build, and setup of trade fair stands and displays
- Support stock tracking and basic logistics tasks
- Use 3D printing and prototyping in product development
- Produce technical drawings and illustrations for manufacturing
- Work across Adobe Creative Suite, CAD software, SolidWorks, KeyShot, and AutoCAD
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline (or a strong portfolio for self-taught designers)
- Experience in product design and development
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, SolidWorks, KeyShot, and AutoCAD
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes
- Experience with 3D printing and prototyping
- Strong technical drawing and visual communication skills
- An interest in nature, art, and design
