- Contract: 6-month full-time contract, with potential to convert to a permanent role depending on business needs and performance

About Madestays
Madestays is a fast-growing luxury property management and hospitality-tech company managing £180M+ in prime London real estate. We are building StayTech, our in-house booking engine, owner dashboard and operations platform that will power our growth and become a licensable SaaS product.
The Role
You’ll help shape a first-of-its-kind operating system for luxury home hospitality, used by guests, owners, and concierge teams across a fast-scaling portfolio. As our UX/UI Designer, you will own the end-to-end user experience for StayTech: from user research and interaction design to prototyping and front-end implementation. You will work closely with Product, Front-end and Back-end engineers to turn concepts into polished, accessible, and performant interfaces that delight guests and owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead user research, interviews and usability testing to validate product direction
- Design interaction flows, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma
- Build and maintain a component-driven design system and pattern library
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect design handoffs and smooth integrations
- Document design decisions, style guides and front-end implementation notes
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience designing UX/UI for web-based products
- Strong visual and interaction design skills with a solid portfolio of web product work
- Experience with Figma
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS/Tailwind CSS
- Proven focus on accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
- Experience running usability tests and using analytics to inform design decisions
- Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across product and engineering teams
Ideal Toolbox Experience
- Figma for design and prototyping
- Origami Studio for advanced prototypes
- Tailwind UI libraries such as: Shadcn, Radix UI
- Collaboration tools: Notion, Linear, Slack
Nice-to-Have
- Background in product design for luxury hospitality, travel or marketplaces
- Familiarity designing SaaS products
Interview Process
- Stage 1: Introductory call to discuss background and fit
- Stage 2: Portfolio review and practical design exercise, followed by a discussion with the product and engineering team
