Social First Motion Graphic Designer

Role Description

Are you a designer with a passion for After Effects?

We’re looking for a talented and social first designer with strong design, conceptual and motion skills to join our growing Pharma-focused team. You’ll work across a range of mainly social projects, from sharp static posts to scroll stopping videos. We want someone who brings energy, curiosity and a can-do attitude to every brief – while passionate about their craft and the details.

At Substance, you’ll be part of a small, collaborative team where you can flex your creativity, grow your skillset and work on everything from branding and campaigns to day-to-day social content. It’s a great opportunity for a solid mid-weight or a junior ready to take on more responsibility.

What you’ll do:

• Design standout, on-brand social content for our pharma clients
• Educate and entertain through visual storytelling
• Respond to a variety of briefs, with space to contribute creative thinking and elevate ideas
• Develop storyboards and visual concepts for larger campaigns
• Contribute in brainstorms and consistently be innovating our design offering
• Present work clearly and confidently, responding to feedback with thoughtful solutions
• Translate complex messages into simple, compelling visual content
• Collaborate with copywriters, producers and account teams throughout the creative process
• Develop and build design and motion graphics templates
• Keep up with design, branding, AI and social trends

Skills & Requirements:

• A strong creative portfolio of previous work including key digital and social examples
• Previous experience as a junior or midweight designer
• Adobe Suite:  A whizz at Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and at designing decks
• Secondary Softwares: Premiere Pro (light video editing), Audition(for light audio editing) beneficial
• 3D skills would be welcomed (or desire to learn it). We use Blender
• We use Slack, Asana, Box and Google Suite for working together
• Solid Motion skills, good sense of easing, pacing, and technical ability
• Solid Design skills: typography, composition, layout, hierarchy, harmony and balance
• A social media native with a strong understanding of marketing and clients needs in social media communications
• Resourceful and a creative problem solver, used to working to deadlines and on own initiative
• Strong knowledge of design trends and new technology
