What We Are Looking For…

Job Purpose:

The Mid-weight Digital Designer will help bring the River Island brand to life with innovative and engaging design, from the initial brief through to project completion. Whether part of an overall campaign or a standalone communication, your design capabilities will help the River Island brand stand out and achieve objectives.

You will be responsible for creating engaging social media content based on campaign concepts, adapting ideas across formats and channels with creativity and consistency.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply your creativity and keen graphic eye to bring seasonal and brand concepts to life with a customer-first mindset.
  • Support the Senior Designer in building design guidelines for campaigns, applying them across multiple channels.
  • Guide and inspire junior designers, leading by example and producing first-class creative work.
  • Respond to marketing briefs with best-in-class, engaging concepts.
  • Develop and adapt social media content based on campaign concepts, ensuring brand consistency while applying original and innovative creative solutions tailored to each platform.
  • Confidently present your work to members of the design team.
  • Handover and brief the artwork team to deliver print-ready files and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with internal UX/UI teams and developers to push the boundaries of design and functionality on the River Island website.
  • Assist the Senior Design Team in maintaining seasonal brand and design style guides, ensuring consistency across all channels.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of what drives brands and transform that into memorable, multi-channel design.
  • Proactively contribute creative ideas and solutions by leveraging AI tools such as Adobe Firefly to enhance and accelerate the design process.
  • Create animated and motion graphic content focused on visual storytelling and engagement.
Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Digital Designer in the fashion industry or a similar creative role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a similar creative field.
  • Hands-on experience in the creative process, UX, marketing, graphic design, and brand development.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize innovative and engaging multi-channel creative.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current design and fashion trends.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet creative deadlines.
  • Clear and confident communication with colleagues at all levels.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative.
  • Strategic thinking and commercial awareness.
  • Strong technical knowledge of both digital and print processes.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, and Figma.
  • Experience with workflow tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe After Effects and motion graphics capabilities.
  • Solid video editing skills for social and campaign content.
  • Portfolio including social content with a focus on video and motion design.
  • Advanced use of AI tools for visual content creation, including ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, and Adobe Firefly.
