Want to work in a small, in-house team of creatives and developers? Want to have real influence in designing the future of a global platform? Want to help define the look-and-feel of a market-leading brand? Want to enjoy a glass of champagne in the office from time to time? If the answer to those questions is yes, then you could be FINE+RARE’s new UI/UX Designer!

The UI/UX Designer will support the Brand team in redesigning and improving the experience on the FINE+RARE online platform. You will work alongside the Head of Design to define, design, and refine the visual identity of F+R with a primary focus on our website and particularly the mobile experience. You will also be involved in user research and getting feedback from our loyal (and often highly opinionated) customers. Fine wines and spirits deserve the finest digital experiences, could you be the person to design them?

As a key member of the Brand team, you will:

  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering with supervision of the Head of Design
  • Create wireframes, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Contribute to the development of our visual identity, ensuring consistent application of our brand book and style guide throughout the process.
  • Assist the Head of Design with establishing and promoting UI design guidelines, best practices and standards for the F+R online channels
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
  • Monitor key competitors and other relevant luxury brand sectors to challenge F+R’s thinking and approach.

Specification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a design related field
  • Demonstrable background of in-house or agency experience, with a strong UI portfolio
  • Advanced competencies in core Adobe CS and MS Office software, as well as prototyping software such as Sketch/Figma
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
  • Proven communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills, with ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Ability to interpret and consistently apply brand guidelines
  • Up to date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Tech-savvy with a willingness to learn and adapt to new platforms quickly
  • Ability to effectively brief developers and handle refinements with them
  • An interest in fine wine and spirits
