About us: 
JD Marketing is a small female-led agency based in Peckham, South London. We’re trusted by global brands to deliver exceptional events; to create thoughtful content and turn brand guidelines into memorable assets – from e-books and brochures to video. We are looking for a senior designer to join our team working across a wide spectrum of live and virtual events in the corporate B2B Technology space.

The role: 
The Senior Designer will deliver creative and commercial value to clients and internal stakeholders within the agency. Projects can range from digital design, print, video and animation, 3D design and build (exhibition stands, activations, event sets etc). You should be used to taking on a range of projects and have the ability to juggle workload and meet deadlines. 

This role will be hands-on and when onsite with clients this role requires the Senior Designer to live the company values – bringing good energy, positive problem solving and a feeling of trusted expertise. This role will require a commercial understanding of the agency business, the client requirements and a network of creative solutions and suppliers to deliver a range of creative programs on the page, in print and at events. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Working alongside the Creative Manager, taking the lead on creating concepts for projects spanning digital, event build and print.
  • Understanding strategic positioning and audience to take briefs from concept through to execution–offering creative, commercial solutions.
  • Delivering highly creative work across multiple brands with meticulous attention to detail, maintaining brand guideline standards, and timely delivery.
  • Collaborating with external or freelance talent as necessary and providing constructive feedback and direction, ensuring consistent look and feel of clients brand guidelines.
  • Championing emotive and powerful creative work and continually pushing the boundaries, applying best practice, and working closely with the rest of the team to ensure standards are upheld. 
  • Inspiring the team with regular research including latest graphic design and creative concept trends which ensure continual creative and commercial output throughout the business.
  • Playing a key role in the creation of animation and video work for the business, right through from conceptualisation to art-direction and even being hands on with editing. 
  • Understanding what the client expects, plan to delight them, lead with excellence and deliver projects, on time, on budget with a feeling of satisfaction and pleasure.

Ideal candidate: 
-At least 3 years design experience (ideally working for creative agency) 

-Confident user of Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, Adobe Premier, After Effects) 

-Animation and video editing skills 

-Interest in latest technological innovations and design trends 

-Confidence in utilising Google Suite (Google Slides) and Microsoft Suite (Powerpoint) 

-Ability to use Mac or PC 

-Strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines

-Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), including the ability to listen well to feedback and translate into action

-Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and stay organised

-Professional and approachable manner 

-To be London-based, or able to travel to the London office 2-3 days per week.
