With some exciting projects in the pipes at Dark Blue and we’re looking for a talented digital designer to join the team and help bring them to life! We want someone with an unhealthy passion for design, looking to grow their skills whilst creating modern digital experiences for our brilliant clients.

Who we’re looking for

A gifted digital designer with a cracking portfolio to prove it. You’ll be someone who thinks conceptually but also understands the principles of user-centric design. Someone who can balance original creativity within a web technology framework. You’re someone who approaches each brief with fresh eyes and original thinking, dissatisfied with city-scape homepages and headlines set in Raleway or Open Sans. You’ll have a firm understanding of the latest technological trends and be curious to experiment with new ones as they come along.

What you’ll be working on

Becoming a key member of the design team, you’ll be hands-on and a creative voice for the entire project life-cycle. You’ll be pitching concepts to stakeholders, designing all assets and interfaces and collaborating with our developers as they bring your creation to life.

The types of projects you’ll be working on will be websites, mobile apps and digital marketing campaigns. We sometimes get involved in some branding or print design, but predominantly its digital interfaces. You’ll have full autonomy over your tools and you’ll be given time to learn new ones to keep you sharp! This is a full time, permanent position and is an awesome opportunity to create mind-blowing digital experiences with a talented and friendly bunch of people.

What you’ll be joining

We’re a small digital agency, usually based out of a cosy studio in Shoreditch, London. When safe to do so, we’ll likely be returning 1 or 2 days per week. We’ve been slowly growing over the past 4 years and our team is currently made up of 3 developers, 1 designer and 1 project/operations manager.

We have awesome clients. Working with big companies like Deliveroo and Ocado, great agencies like JKR and Mindshare and exciting start-ups like Tide and Plenish. We don’t do any outward business development. All our work comes from word-of-mouth, referrals and repeat business which we’re quite proud of.

A healthy work/life balance is very important to us and we’ve crafted the agency around the lives we want to live. We have flexible working hours and budgets for employee health and wellbeing. Travel is encouraged (remember travel!?). Everyone gets plenty of holiday allowance, and we take team trips away together as often as possible.
