We’re looking for a talented video editor and motion graphics designer to expand our small but busy video team. You will be involved in creating a wide range of different motion content – from editing live-action filmed footage, to storyboarding and creating 2D animations. Our output includes animations for social media or digital advertising, brand promotional / explainer videos, small-scale piece-to-camera video shoots, all the way up to on-location bespoke film production. Our video work can also range in tone from pragmatic and informative, to entertaining, to evocative and inspiring.

As part of a small team, you will have the opportunity to quickly build trust and gain a high degree of autonomy, taking on your own smaller projects under the guidance of our Head of Motion Graphics and Creative Director, as well as contributing to larger, more complex work.

Initially the role will involve some degree of working from home due to the pandemic. However, due to the unique workflow considerations of video production, it may occasionally be necessary to work from our lovely barn-conversion studio, just outside High Wycombe. Once restrictions are lifted we intend this role to be primarily on-site.

While rock-solid technical ability in editing and animation are the core requirement, we love hybrid skills and wider interests. A successful applicant will have some ability to grow and shape the role over time to suit them – so if you love filmmaking, music, 3D animation, illustration, technology or anything else you can bring to your work, we’ll try our best to put your skills to good use.

Our ideal candidate will

Have 1-4 years’ experience as a motion designer, with a strong portfolio/showreel demonstrating a range of technical skills.
Be equally comfortable editing live-action footage and animating typography, image and vector elements from scratch.
Have a good sense of animation timing, pacing and rhythm.
Have a solid base of broader design skills – conceptual thinking, colour, typography, design and layout.
Be confident working from concept to completion – taking an initial script or brief and working through ideation, storyboarding, design, animation and delivery.
Work collaboratively, sharing ideas and giving/receiving constructive feedback.
Be a self-driven and proactive learner who is keen to develop their skills and challenge themselves.

Key technical/software skills

Extensive knowledge of Adobe After Effects & Premiere Pro
Strong knowledge of other Adobe Creative Suite software – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Some familiarity with video compression, encoding and delivery
Knowledge of audio editing in Adobe Audition or similar is a plus

Please send your CV along with a portfolio or links to the email in the apply button.

We look forward to hearing from you.
