We’re looking for a skilled Midweight Digital Designer to join our team, creating characterful products and experiences for brave clients.

At Output, we aim to challenge traditional brand and digital thinking. Instead of applying them as layers, we let each discipline inform the other. So you’ll need to be visually inventive, organised and versatile. You thrive on bringing brands with substance to life in a digital space.

You have a strong understanding of user experience and user-centric design. You’re comfortable mapping out the architecture of an experience, through simple sitemaps and low-fidelity wireframes. You develop these into pixel-perfect visuals full of character, and you’re mindful of how components work through interaction.

As a Midweight Designer at Output you’ll be responsible for your own projects, while supporting the senior team and inspiring junior members. You’ll need to understand brand design and art direction too, so you can develop existing guidelines into strong digital outcomes. Outstanding typography, layout and composition skills are essential.

You’re curious about the latest tools and technologies, to enhance your workflow and share your learnings with the team. With all this knowledge, you’re close to understanding how an experience comes together as a scalable design system. You just need the right opportunity, and a bit of guidance.

Skills & experience needed

  • 3+ years experience.
  • Expert in Sketch, Figma and Adobe CS.
  • Ideally from a digital/design agency background, rather than marketing or ad agency.
  • Worked across performance-driven sectors like retail and ecommerce.

Nice-to-haves

  • A thorough understanding of HTML and CSS will be helpful. You should be able to effectively communicate with a developer.
  • Working knowledge of After Effects or similar motion tools, to bring ideas and interfaces to life.
  • Experience in digital product design and service design.

Does this sound like you? Send your CV, portfolio and a cover letter to Johanna Drewe by 5pm on Friday 11th December.
