Animations have already been developed for cardiac procedures (www.explainmyprocedure.com) and the plan is now to expand this across medical and surgical specialties. This is an exciting and unusual opportunity to create novel ways of communicating scientific and medical concepts through design and animation to produce media that will be immediately used in medical practice. There will also be an opportunity to learn cross-disciplinary skills in a leading research institute. Creativity, knowledge of design/animation software, excellent communication skills and an interest in medicine/science are essential requirements.

The post-holder will be skilled in graphic design, animation, ideally both 2-D and 3-D, and will work closely with medical practitioners across QMUL and Barts Health NHS Trust including David Wald, Professor of Cardiology who will lead the project. Please include a link to your showreel , if you have one , in your application.

The successful candidate will be appointed part-time for 1 year in the first instance. The salary will be pro rata in the range £30,445 – 34,764 (including London weighting).
