Your Role Purpose

As Milk & Mores Senior Graphics Designer your role is responsible for driving the creative vision for graphic design across the business and establishing, maintaining and evolving the brands graphic style guides to mirror the brand DNA. The role will act as a key contributor to creative ideation within the broader brand marketing team and invest in the strategic development of Milk & Mores brand DNA.

The Senior Graphic Designer is accountable for the planning and successful, timely delivery of all creative design outputs across a broad range of activities including web/app, digital marketing, social, video/motion, email and multiple print formats.

The role will lead the development of briefs, research and mood boards to deliver the conceptualisation of graphic design content for all our brand, marketing, product and promotional campaigns. This will require the development of close relationship across key areas of the business including product, digital, commercial and marketing to ensure both the customer needs and business objectives are fully understood and that approval and consensus is achieved for all activities.

Responsibilities & Deliverables
Contribute to the development and evolution of the brand DNA, to ensure this is integrated into all graphic design work, underpinning a consistent visual ID a and tone of voice for Milk and More.
Own and develop the creative strategy for Milk & Mores digital and print assets, building out clear playbooks and style guides for the graphic design team to deliver against across all campaigns and activities. Be the guardian of brand logos, fonts, typography, pantones etc.
Collaborate closely with colleagues across product, brand marketing, digital trading, performance marketing, CRM and social media to ensure all business needs, marketing campaigns and customer comms are known and understood.
Build and maintain a creative process that supports the effective capture of need, understands the commercial goals, supports the required development and approval of creative concepts and ensures the timely delivery of all creative digital and print assets as required.
Ensure industry trends, competitor developments and design innovations are persistently fed into our design process and thinking, to ensure we remain ahead of the market with regards visual asset impact across the multiple formats and platforms we communicate through.
Develop a clear an understanding of different digital marketing channels (through close engagement with internal peers and external agencies) to then lead on the creation, adaptation and versioning of effective and impactful design of digital assets for use across Milk & Mores website, app, social media, performance marketing channels and other media platforms
Support in the production and post production of video assets.
Plan and design layouts for key print activities to maximise customer engagement and attention. Provide clear design and asset guidance to the graphic design and content teams across various print assets, including Milk & Mores doorstep newspaper, direct mail campaigns and service/comms leaflets and labels. Develop and manage print assets from initial commercial briefing to finished output.
Provide strategic direction on the development of BAU and automated email templates, across customer lifecycle emails, brand comms, campaigns and promotions to maximise engagement and click throughs. Be accountable for the delivery of sector leading email design and ensure the on-going provision of digital assets to support BAU.

Contribute to Milk and More packaging artwork and where applicable, the development/redesign of small brand supplier packaging.
Maintain high visual standards that deliver on the visual ID and tone of voice of the Milk & More brand, whilst also meeting the requirements for optimizing performance across the different marketing channels we deploy our assets through.

Experience & Background
Creative & Commercial:
Experience of developing strategic creative vision, balanced with the delivery of commercial objectives.
Experience of leading others within a graphic design team and are used to planning and managing multiple workstreams, with significant output requirements and tight deadlines.

You are a dynamic, creative thinking designer who enjoys flexibility in role and can adapt to different projects, channels and formats. You are able to combine creativity with commercial acumen to
ensure you are always designing with business objectives and goals in mind. You are keen to remain close to the creative design of assets.
You understand and enjoy the varying demands of the creative process, balancing need to research, plan and consider creative design, whilst also being able to work at pace and manage high levels of versioning and output across different channels.

Communication & Adaptability:
Experienced in presenting to Senior Executives and developing key working relationship with cross-functional business leads.
Enjoys working in a positive, respectful culture. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to present responses to briefs, build creative development plans and design outputs, gathering feedback and opinions from stakeholders to ensure designs reflect and deliver on business needs
You thrive on the evolution of design and are able to adapt quickly as you work across different projects, in parallel.

Technical Skills:
Solid graphic design experience that has been deployed across multiple formats both digital and offline. Obsessive attention to detail, with a strong understanding of design layout principles, typography and visual/content information architecture.

Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, with a focus on Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and preferably XD. Additional digital skills (e.g. After Effects, Final Cut, Flash, Dreamweaver) are a bonus. Working knowledge of HTML/CSS also beneficial. An interest in new creative tools and AI to support design (e.g. Runway.ml, Tome, Midjourney).

Traditional typography and print skills publishing design/layout, artworking, production and finishing.

Background:

6-8 years graphic design experience in a retail/consumer facing sector (whether achieved direct or via agency). Food/Grocery/FMCG experience would be advantageous, but equally we are looking for creative thought capability so any retail sector experience is welcomed.
