Job Description

As the world’s leading illustrated non-fiction Publisher we are looking for a super creative, talented Designer to join us as we evolve our Lifestyle books with groundbreaking design.

The Life team creates books about all things lifestyle and health, this includes books for adults on cooking, drink, gardening, craft, fitness, and self-improvement. We work with high-profile authors and with the best photographers and illustrators in the industry. You will be passionate about design, want to learn from the best and keen to develop your career in a creative environment.

Reporting into the Art Director, this is a real opportunity for you to have your say and influence the styling of our content. You will be someone who can get stuck in from the get-go and can handle working to multiple deadlines.

Some of your day-to-day will involve:

  • Assisting the Senior Designers
  • Hands on design of internals and covers of books
  • Running a number of your own titles with the Acquisitions editors
  • Briefing and commissioning photographers and illustrators

This is a busy role and you will need to be well organised to ensure you can deliver. Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, are another must as you work with colleagues and freelancers.

In return, you will have the opportunity to work within a truly collaborative business where you have the freedom to make a real impact if you’re willing to put in the hard work.

If you’re still reading this and have a portfolio that shows a whole breadth and depth of work, we’d love to see it. Please upload your portfolio and most recent CV to be considered.

Closing date for applications: 19th December 2022
