Role: Senior Designer

Reports into: Design Director

Location: Canada Water, London

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent (42.5 hours per week)

Our Team:

The Broadwick design and creative team believe in pushing boundaries through beauty and brand. The in-house team work collaboratively across the entire Broadwick Group, covering creative ideation, brand management and creation, graphic design, motion design and video content. The team are committed to inspiring through beautiful design and creativity.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a passionate and personable Senior Designer to join our in-house studio. You’ll have an appetite to develop your creative skills and brave curiosity to work across major new in-house brand launches. You will also lead on the rebrand and the redevelopment of some of the current assets within our portfolio, working with our in-house team and also collaborating with external agencies.

You’ll be supporting the Design Director developing best in class brands and campaigns for world class cultural venues and spaces whilst maintaining brand integrity across the board. Brands include: Printworks London, Depot Mayfield Manchester, Exhibition London, Magazine London, Beams London, and Spaces & Stories.

As well as supporting the Design Director, you will have a keen interest in creating a supportive environment and give advice and help where necessary to your juniors. We are looking for an ambitious thinker and with an ability to motivate the team, leading them to achieve outstanding objectives.

You’ll be looking to strengthen and develop your skills in creating brands and art direction. You will be excited to develop our pre-existing venues and brands, taking a lead in meetings and discussions and directing the team. You’ll have proven experience of developing ideas into exciting creative campaigns and have a portfolio that showcases this. You will also enjoy working as part of a wider team, getting stuck into creative problem solving.

Broadwick Live as a company is constantly developing and exploring new opportunities and concepts, with plenty of scope for you to present and execute your own creative vision as these opportunities present themselves.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Taking a senior role in our small but ambitious creative team.

Working closely with the marketing team to produce sales collateral.

Managing and developing creatives, helping them produce their best work.

Supporting and mentoring the Junior Designers.

Working with our in-house brand guidelines to produce accurate and on brand promotional material as well as developing pre-existing brands.

Inputting strong and well thought out ideas on creative campaigns across the growing Broadwick group.

Bringing a high level of industry awareness into research as well as informed ideas around experience, talent and trends.

Consistent at delivering design solutions from concept to execution.

Fast and reliable, can work under pressure when needed.

Understands brand principles, design systems and visual language and has the ability to define a ‘brand world’.

Vocal and able to give opinions and recommendations on what they think is right.

Takes direction and feedback well, re-working ideas or creating something entirely new.

Strong knowledge of the production process, and their role in it.

Actively seeks problems to solve in our business, and proactively looks for ways to improve excisisting brands.

Able to time manage multiple projects, and prioritise their own work flow.

Presents ideas in a way that captivates, from deck to verbal presentation.

You’ll need to have:

5+ years of industry experience, with a passion for Music, Arts and Culture

Experience managing a team of designers with multiple and competing work priorities. Inspire and motivate your team

Comfortable working as a team and confident to take part in meetings, workshops and interactions with clients

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Personable and hard-working approach to the role, as well as demonstrating empathy towards the core team and beyond

Experience delivering against deadlines and an ability to stay calm under pressure

An ability to give and receive constructive criticism

Meticulous attention to detail and brilliant organisational skills

A desire to go the extra mile to achieve what you set out to do

Expert skills in Adobe CC with a passion for motion graphics

A proven understanding of typography and layout

Print, digital and motion is second nature to you

Nice to haves:

Video editing experience

Experience in cinema 4D

An interest in emerging software
