About The Role
We are looking for a Design Assistant to join our design department working across print, softs, tailoring, knitwear, denim and our kids range.
The design team create the mood, colour palette, prints and key shapes of the collection each season. We are seeking a Design Assistant who will partner closely with our close-knit team of Established Designers and actively contribute to trend research, seasonal mood boards and our sustainability efforts. This is an all-encompassing Assistant role which will see you contribute as an active member of the Design team.
Key accountabilities include:
- Assisting the wider Design Team in the smooth daily running of the design process and department from sketch to supplier, organising new samples and managing sketch packs
- Supporting the Established Designers with boards/presentations and technique boards to inspire our seasonal brand handwriting
- Partnering closely with our Buying assistants, identifying general trends and product categories for our brand
- Assisting with the preparation of design packs and construction of mood boards for trend presentations
About You
The Design Assistant will be highly motivated with a keen eye for detail and organisation and the design process. We will need you to possess well-developed hand sketching skills and full working proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and CAD. Keeping fully abreast of the key global trends and anticipating those which are relevant to the Whistles customer is key in this role.
