emc3 are looking for a Motion Graphics Designer and Video Editor to support our events team and to work directly with the design team. You will be working across our full portfolio of brands including on internal emc3 tasks. As part of our team, you will be heavily involved in the creation of video editing and animated projects, making sure your work meets client expectations, while maintaining emc3’s high standard of work.

Purpose:

  • To conceptualise, create and execute the production of video and animated content.
  • To own deliverables and provide guidance and expertise on all video editing assets and motion design.
  • To work in collaboration with the design studio to perform and execute the following tasks for various media assets, but not limited to:
    • Video Editing: highlights and sizzle reels, case study videos, interviews, cinematics, b-roll, etc.
    • Motion Graphics: Animated slates, rotoscoping, motion/camera tracking, typography, keying, etc.
    • Post-Production: colour grading, sound design and mixing, encoding, mastering, archiving, etc.
  • Furthermore, they must assist in the development of project scripts and outlines, giving technical feedback during the process.
  • They must deliver final animations and video optimized in the format chosen for their dissemination (web, social media, large presentation screen, etc.).
  • They must continually work on enhancements and suggest new approaches and features, striving for efficient workflow.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Research industry trends to present ideas and concepts for timely video and animation innovation.
  • Owning the video editing and motion design process and together with the Content and Design Manager manage the production of social media videos, presentations and podcasts, session videos, promotional videos, dynamic animations and motion graphics and any other animated and video content.
  • Video and image sourcing, creating rough and final cuts, inputting music, dialogues, graphics, and effects.
  • Preparing concepts, storyboards, and prototypes.
  • Taking ownership of projects assigned, ensuring they meet agreed deadlines assigned by the Content and Design Manager.
  • Quality control of video content / motion design output.
  • Cooperate closely with the Creative Lead, Content and Design Manager and other members of the design team.
  • Build strong relationships within the wider emc3 team through regular and clear communication and a collaborative approach to work.
  • Helping manage client expectations.
  • Working with internal teams to help create pitching and proposal documents.
  • Educate colleagues in video and animation best practice when required
  • Mentor junior members of team.

Characteristics & Competencies:

  • 3+ years proven experience within video editing and motion design.
  • Proficiency in using the Adobe suite, with a particular focus on Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • A proactive individual who is passionate about creating meaningful solutions that meet our client’s needs.
  • A strong problem solver, capable of approaching situations diplomatically to find the best outcome for both client and company.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and process driven.
  • An approachable resource for the team to utilise; someone who provides support with enthusiasm and energy towards achieving a common goal.
  • Organised and admin focused with the ability to adapt quickly and positively to high pressured and ever evolving situations.
  • Strong time-management skills.
