Overview…

We’re looking for an exceptional Motion Designer with a passion for brand and communications. We’ll need you to assist on a variety of client briefs, largely across the tech and purpose sectors and across a range of outputs, from branding, to digital products and campaigns.

You’ll need the skill set and confidence to…

  • share skills with colleagues
  • present work informally to colleagues and clients
  • spot problems and work with your teammates to find a solution

As our first motion-focused hire, you’ll be given the challenge and opportunity to help shape and expand HAA’s motion capabilities. We’ve had the pleasure of working with and producing motion for such brands as HBO, Instagram, The Climate Group and Born Social.

You will be generally responsible for:

  • Talent development: You can train less experienced colleagues to learn new skills and ways of working.
  • Planning and preparation: Working across multiple projects simultaneously, you can shape and coordinate activities on project work, including those involving other colleagues.
  • Communication & presentation: You can present work formally to colleagues, and informally to clients. You can visit external student and professional bodies and deliver a lecture or workshop on an area of expertise.
  • Feeding back: You can take part in feedback or critique sessions with clients.
  • Problem solving: You are quick to spot problems, can use you experience to pre-empt problem areas, and can work with your teammates to find a solution.

On projects you will:

Working independently (with input from Director level and above if required), you can:

  • complete core motion and design tasks in our discover and define process, ideating and forming insights
  • ideate and produce final creative routes
  • complete core tasks in our creative rollout process

You’ll need to have:

  • Proficient experience in After Effects and Adobe CC
  • A curiosity to explore emerging tools and technologies. An interest in finding new ways to bring things to life through motion.
  • Understanding of animation principles such as pace, composition, framing.
  • Ability to explain creative concepts in a clear and concise way

It would be great (but not essential) if you have:

  • An interest, or skill, in creating motion with code
  • Experience defining and building motion principles for brands
  • An understanding and interest in 3D.

Benefits…

  • Hybrid way of working – We moved into our new studio in Farringdon, London and under our hybrid way of working (blend of remote/studio) we recommend coming in two days per week.
  • Flexi-hours – Monday to Friday, 9.30am until 5.30pm are our core hours, but we want everyone to be able to balance their personal and working life so we offer flexible hours throughout the day.
  • Career development – we have a considered and robust framework for career development, as well as a training budget to further your skill set and knowledge
  • Holidays – 28 days per day (in addition to public holidays)
  • Company sick pay scheme
  • Private healthcare – comprehensive, fully subsidised private health insurance from Vitality. This includes an employee assistance programme, discounted gym membership, a reward scheme that offers Amazon Prime, cinema tickets, and fitness tracking devices
  • Wellbeing support – we offer a budget towards wellbeing and mental health services
  • Family friendly – enhanced maternity and paternity packages
  • Socials – studio lunches, social events, BBQs and other clubs (when the world permits).
