Article and Urban Excess is a fast growing fashion and homeware business located in East London that has been established for 15 years. They own a portfolio of websites including Article and Urban Excess.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team working for an established brand. The successful candidate will be responsible for all digital content across all websites and social platforms.


The role is for someone who is looking to make a big contribution within a small team to produce high quality design that is on brief and on brand. As a small company you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects, primarily focussing on our website, email and social, but also providing support for in-store POS, packaging and helping to develop seasonal campaigns.


Your key responsibilities would be:

  • Deliver a compelling look and feel for the website throughout the year that helps to drive conversion
  • Produce compelling email visual content that drives engagement and brand percept
  • Utilise our photography to its fullest potential to create visually engaging and commercial content
  • Help develop and implement seasonal and promotional designs
  • Create impactful promotional assets for the site
  • Update content pages across the site eg homepage & landing pages
  • Contribute to developing concepts for marketing and seasonal campaigns
  • Be prepared to pitch in across a wide range of tasks, from store ticketing and wayfinding, to Instagram stories and packaging

What You’ll Bring

You should have a positive can-do attitude and be able to create accurate and considered work within tight timeframes. You will need an eye for detail and an appreciation of commercial considerations. Having an interest in design, fashion and homewares would be a big bonus.

  • At least 3 years experience in in Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Confidence to learn to creating content pages on digital platforms: Shopify, Mailchimp
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience in preparing imagery and artwork for digital platforms.
  • Ability to produce print-ready files and knowledge of print processes.
  • 1-2+ years (min.) commercial experience working in digital with experience in print
  • Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or similar
  • Drive a higher proportion of customers from category page to product page
  • Drive higher conversion (i.e. add to basket) from product pages
  • Use the tools available including Google Analytics & search dashboards to implement improvements to user experience
