Following the receipt of a large grant, the purpose of the post is to, as a core part of the Bloomberg Digital Accelerator Programme project team, devise a content strategy and produce associated content for the Education Hub, in line with the Project Plan submitted to and approved by Bloomberg Philanthropies.

Your Team:

This role sits within the Marketing & Commercial team and will work closely with the Development Projects Manager, Education & Community Director and Head of Education & Community, and colleagues from the Marketing & Commercial team.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • To support the implementation of the Bloomberg project
  • To support on the management of stakeholders, ensuring the Bloomberg project fits within the strategic objectives of the organisation
  • To produce visual (photographic, video), written and audio content for the Education Hub, in line with the strategy
  • Ensure that, via the Education Hub, The Old Vic has a vibrant, creative and engaging digital presence that acts as a gateway to the creative and cultural education
  • To ensure that the capturing of content is of the highest quality
  • To repurpose or redesign existing assets to present them in a more accessible and compelling way
  • Through a dynamic and accessible content strategy, demonstrate the power of engaging with culture and theatrical techniques to support career development in any industry
  • To work closely with the Bloomberg technology consultant on the implementation of the project
  • To support the Director of Digital Strategy & Audience Engagement in maintaining a productive relationship with Bloomberg
  • In collaboration with the Education & Community Director and Head of Education & Community, devise and execute a clear content strategy for the Education Hub, that is realised on time and on budget
  • To scope, produce and manage all digital content for Education Hub. Consisting of high quality, engaging content the Education Hub will aim to create the tools to provide free cultural education and employability skills across the world
  • Through dynamic content creation, address a growing societal need for equal access to education and employment
  • In collaboration with the Director of Digital Strategy & Audience Engagement, manage the redesign and redevelopment of the Education Hub on oldvictheatre.com
  • Report on the reach and engagement of Education Hub content
  • To competently manage acquiring rights where appropriate for content creation
  • Manage relationships with external filmmakers
  • To protect The Old Vic brand at all times.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Experience of working with senior members of staff to create assets
  • Experience of working in an education/participatory setting
  • Experience of working with funders
  • Experience in creating short-form marketing, engagement and educational content
  • Demonstrable creative thinker
  • Experience in managing film shoots
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Ability to work on multiple briefs at the same time and manage time effectively across these
  • Proactive, confident and self-motivated
  • Flexible, adaptable approach and able to reprioritise work as necessary
  • Be able to take direction and respond with adaptability
  • Have a keen eye for detail and good communication skills

Role Details 

Responsible to: Director of Digital Strategy & Audience Engagement

Contract: Fixed Term Contract – 18-24 months

Hours: Full-Time [40 hours per week, Monday-Friday]
