Description

SIDE Labs is a small team with a big mission: we use design and technology to alleviate suffering, guide the vulnerable and reduce inequalities.

At SIDE, you’ll get the chance to grow and do your best work. We believe that Webflow, and no-code more generally, is going to be revolutionary for social impact.

Requirements

SIDE is more than the sum of its parts. We are looking for a team player who will nurture others and enjoy the process of collaborative endeavour.

We know we are unlikely to find someone with all of the skills below, so we’d still love to hear from you even if you don’t match them all.

In rough order of priority, we are looking for:

1. Design skills

You’ll care deeply about UI and UX. You’ll be able to communicate visually with originality and excellence. You can translate fuzzy requirements into something elegant and fitting the purpose.

2. Webflow skills

You’ll build designs to best Webflow practice (we’ve started using the Client-first Style System – bonus points if you’ve got experience). Ideally you’ll be comfortable with all the features of Webflow, like CMS and animations.

3. Other no-code skills

Top of our list is Integromat, Airtable and Typeform. We’d love it if you’ve experience of connecting Airtable to Webflow via Integromat… but we are happy to hear of other explorations and integrations. Any experience is useful. We are particularly interested to hear if you’ve got experience evaluating No-Code tools for new situations.

4. User research experience

You’ll be able to see things from the user’s perspective. You’ll plan and carry out user research that maximises learning. You’ll synthesise this research into actionable insights, communicating them with impact and honesty.

5. Project management experience

You’ll be comfortable organising and leading. You’ll work closely with colleagues, clients and partners to shepherd projects from concept to completion.

6. Writing ability

You don’t need to be a poet, but tight writing is important to us. Whether it is emails or Slack messages, interface copy or research synthesis – we like it all to shine.

Benefits

– Salary: £40k to £46k
– Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays
– Equipment: Computer, chair and desk (if needed)
– Hybrid working: 3 days remote, 2 IRL
– Professional development: £500 per year
– Other benefits: Birthday off, pension scheme and Cycle to Work scheme
– Social stuff: After-work drinks on SIDE (and a table tennis tournament)
– Over time, and in the case of exceptional performance, we offer a share of ownership and a path to full partnership in SIDE Labs.

Application timeline

– Applications open: Tuesday 23rd November
– Applications close: Friday 17th December
– 1st round interviews: Week of 3rd January
– 2nd round interviews: Week of 10th January
– Candidate offer and feedback: Week of 17th January

Location

We are looking for candidates who can work in London two days per week. We find it more fun and more creative to work together IRL. We work two days per week face-to-face at our co-working space, X+Why (once a week in Chiswick, and once a week in East London, though that may change). The rest of the time we work remotely (although this is evolving).

In your cover letter

Please tell us:
– Why you’d like to work with SIDE
– One social problem you’d love to solve
– One online project that inspires you
