Here at HackerOne, a “Unicorn” designer is not our ideal standard and we are not searching for one. However, if you are a well-rounded designer who’s interested in having ownership for all parts of the design process; problem definition, decisions, interaction design, user research and usability testing, we’d love to connect!

Our design team is small (5) but mighty. You will be working closely with Product Managers, Engineers and Designers. You are creative, innovative, and have the leadership and organization skills to plan and execute initiatives designed to improve the overall product experience.

YOUR JOURNEY AT HACKERONE

Your journey at HackerOne is going to be unique and one of a kind. It’s going to be a great life adventure and career experience
As a product designer, your priority is to own the solution areas. That involves an entire design process from starting with understanding the problem through implementation including user research, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed visual designs for implementation

Your journey also includes understanding and collaborating with stakeholders; identifying and communicating design rationale and key tradeoffs

You will also help establish and reinforce consistent design patterns with software development. You will also get to work closely with product managers, helping define the problems and collaborate with developers to design product experiences that users love.

A bonus journey for a design system champion – you will also be helping with establishing and developing a cohesive visual aesthetic for HackerOne that extends across all user-facing interfaces

WHO YOU ARE

Our goal is to build a diverse team–we are looking for a candidate with skill sets and attributes that will compliment, support, and make the design team greater. We are looking to build diversity in our team

CRAFT

You are a product designer: 6+ years of hands-on experience as a UX Designer at a fast-growing software company, strong understanding of UX and product interaction problems.

You are a facilitator and a good listener: experience in conducting user research and gathering user feedback

You are a collaborator: strong history working with product management and development teams

You are a presenter: great communication and presentation skills

You are technical: front-end development understanding (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
You are good at tools: Experienced in Figma & prototyping, and easter egg! if you actually read this – mention this in your cover letter

VALUE

  • You are humble: humility, curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • You take feedback: give feedback to others and open to hearing feedback and learn
  • You are an owner: take responsibility, accountability of your project, seeing things through and getting it done
