The Role

Pixel Toys is seeking an exceptional Senior Games Designer to work on our new, exciting, big license mobile title. This is a key position, which will see the successful candidate working alongside the senior leadership team and closely with our publishing partner.

This role would ideally suit someone who loves collaborating within a supportive environment and has a strong sense of responsibility. Either performing a similar role already at a senior level, or someone ready to grow into the role. You’ll need passion, dedication, leadership qualities and the motivation to create the best possible experience and captivating features for our millions of players!

Responsibilities:

• Head your own team as the Senior Designer and official Feature Owner
• Develop design specifications with the team and our publishing partner
• Validate designs using best-in-class research analysis and market data
• Support production by prioritising the tasks and output of your team each sprint
• Collaborate daily with the senior leadership team, other feature owners, producers, designers, artists, and engineers
• Guide the work of developers within your team to ensure features are developed to the highest possible quality and according to the schedule
• Work with the UX department to develop solutions and validation via user centered testing and analytics
• Liaise regularly with senior and publishing stakeholders
• Drive reviews and development sign-off gates
• Ultimately, to own, design and lead the development of multiple features from inception to release and through live-ops

About You:

• Passion for mobile games development, practical processes and people
• Strong team focus / ethics and collaboration in mind
• Strong self-discipline and organisational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to design features at a detailed system level
• Able to succinctly describe solutions at the high and low level
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Extensive knowledge gameplay and / or metagame systems design
• Hands on, technical implementation and tuning experience using the Unity engine
• Good with numbers, balancing content and economies
• Knowledge of multiple mobile games and genres through experience as a player
• A solid understanding / education (underpinning your work) of the core principles of games design
• The drive and ambition to succeed at the highest level
• The ability to engage and motivate teams, ensuring that we carry on producing ‘best in class’ to our customers
• A proven track record in creating commercially successful free-to-play mobile games
