The speed read:

Our client is a premium skincare brand that is growing and expanding its successful product range in the UK and new markets (EU and US).

The facts:

This business already has an established brand. We need a designer to work on a freelance basis to help them with design rollout, oversight and consistency across a growing range of skincare products.

You will deal with the content for the inserts and packaging, ensuring consistency, down to the smallest detail. You will be dealing with different content for different markets. And you will be happy to pick up the phone to check this with various professional contacts as necessary.

The client works partly in different time zones, so a little flexibility and responsiveness will be baked into this role.

To start with, the time commitment may be 1-2 days a week, but this may change. So this will fit alongside other freelance work, with an understanding that it could grow into a bigger commitment as the range and requirements grow (though it would never be full time).

You need to be practised in the full Adobe suite and be able to create repro ready packaging artwork.

You must have solid packaging experience. It would be great if you have worked in the skincare/beauty/cosmetics industry but it’s not essential.

You’ll:

  • Understand and support a refined, pared back brand and aesthetic.
  • Be meticulous
  • Have very high standards
  • Be super organised
  • Have a great can-do attitude
  • Be easy to get along with and want to feel part of a business
  • Be happy to work alone and give design advice to other (non-design) stakeholders in the business as appropriate

Ideal superpowers:

A great, flexible appetite with bundles of enthusiasm and attention to detail

Day rate negotiable, depending on experience, approx. £250 – £300 a day, rolling. Remote working.
