At UCA, creativity and innovation are at the heart of what we do. Our legacy of educating eager and passionate artists, makers and thinkers runs back almost 160 years, and today we’re helping shape a global future that supports and nourishes talent worldwide.

Our campuses across Surrey and Kent are vibrant communities, each specialising in different areas of the creative industries. We are also home to a thriving research hub, with academic experts and fellows leading the way in research on sustainability, design, textiles, animation, history, and culture, and more.

Are you ready to share your passion for creativity with the next generation of innovators? If so, we want to hear from you.

At UCA, we’re looking for a new Head of UCA Studio, an innovative approach to project delivery.
You will be responsible for design, co-ordination, and delivery of a range of projects selected with a primary focus on improving the student experience of the university. UCA Studio integrates UCA’s extensive resource of creative students and staff with suitable projects within its practical programme of maintaining, updating, and improving its spaces and facilities. UCA Studio will enrich the student experience with live projects that shape their own environment, materials, and experiences and optimises staff networks and expertise for selected projects as part of UCA’s Transformation 2024 initiative.

You will be an experienced and senior design professional with academic background, able to implement design and construction projects in a live working environment. You will have appropriate skills and expertise to co-ordinate input from university colleagues and students towards defined project outcomes and within agreed parameters of cost, programme, and functionality.

You will be a visionary who can inspire, nurture and lead project teams and ensure value for money in the procurement of construction activities. This is a senior role within Estates and Facilities with responsibility across our four UK campuses. You will preferably be based in Farnham, however there is flexibility to consider Epsom or Canterbury as your main location, travel between campuses is an essential part of the role. You will also be expected to support the growth of the University using your industry networks.
