Are you interested in playing an important role in a key government Department that offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the decision making that affects the whole of the UK? We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Digital Team!

The Digital team is made up of 10 social media, publishing, design and content creation specialists and works with communication colleagues to produce compelling and shareable content for a range of channels.

This exciting role will put you at the centre of the Treasury’s communications team as we find new and innovative ways to explain our work. We are looking for a confident, talented Digital Content Officer to help us ensure our policies and messages are seen and clearly understood by their intended audiences – and to help us innovate in our work.

All design work is done in house at the Treasury, so one week you might be branding a new organisation and the next creating graphics for a campaign on the Tampon Tax. There will also be occasional requirements to design content specifically for print, such as event materials and branding.

Key Accountabilities

1. Design and produce creative digital content
Day to day you will create graphics and animations for social media, this will include business as usual content, longer form campaigns where you will get the opportunity to work closely with other departments and fiscal events, such as Budgets.

2. Video and animation
You will work closely with our video and photographic leads, you’ll be able to film short pieces to camera as required and have a basic understanding of editing with Adobe CC.

3. Support HM Treasury social channels
Work with Social Media Manager to plan and create content for our Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube channels.

What you will bring to the team:
We are looking for someone who possesses creative flair and a strong understanding of design principles, including layout, composition and typography. The ideal candidate will want to work in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, and will have experience in creating high quality graphics and animations for social audiences. They will be a skilled graphic designer and be able to translate complex data into graphics for social media.

HM Treasury is proud of a diverse and inclusive work environment, committed to fairness and the promotion of equality of opportunity for all.
