Lattimore and Friends are looking for a mid-level UX/UI Designer to join our growing design team.

So, who are you?

You’ll be a friendly, team-focused individual with a keen eye for design and a passion for web and technology. This is a junior to mid-level role and we’re looking for someone who has some experience in UX/UI design and brings a base level of knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to the team. That said, we are not particular on qualifications – perhaps you smashed through all the courses on SuperHi or Memorisely, perhaps you did one of those 8/10/12/15 week crash courses, perhaps you did it the old school way with books from the library. However you got here, we want to take you further. It should also be said here that we’d be so stoked to give more people from underrepresented groups their first step into tech and digital.

So, who are we?
We are a rapidly growing digital production studio, working primarily with leading creative and branding studios, helping them to design and build great web experiences for their clients.

In the past year, we have created an in-house design team to support our branding partners with web design and development. We’re growing nicely and now need a UX/UI designer to work closely with our Graphic Designer and our Design Manager to help us continue deliver amazing website projects.

So, what will you do?
From day one we will expect you to work with our Graphic Designer with the support of our Design Manager to:

  • Conduct user research and evaluate requirements for accessibility
  • Illustrate design ideas using sitemaps and wireframes
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
  • Build page navigation buttons and search fields
  • Develop UI prototypes on multiple screens
  • Adhere to brand guidelines on fonts, colours and images
  • Develop some of your designs on Webflow or Editor X

So, what do you need?
Although we do not require you to have a degree or previous role in a huge agency, we would like to see:

  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer (this can be through self-initiated projects as well!)
  • Portfolio of design projects, preferably illustrating the brief, the process as well as the final result
  • Knowledge of wireframe and design tools (Figma is a must, Adobe Creative Cloud apps are a plus)
  • Knowledge of some website builders is desirable (Webflow and Editor X are our favourites, but plus points if you are comfortable with Squarespace)
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate within the design team and with the development team
  • Good time-management skills

So, what do you get?

  • A salary of £33,200
  • A very flexible working situation – most of our team is 100% remote and we encourage people to manage their hours to ensure work/life balance.
  • That said, for those who want to get out of the house and are based near London, our studio is based in beautiful Somerset House and you are welcome to work here as much or as little as possible

How to Apply
The proposed start date is mid-June and we’ll be holding interviews on a rolling basis until we find the right person. Please send all applications to Cecilia, Design Manager at Lattimore and Friends.

In your application, do send over::

  • Cover letter, which should mention some examples of successful teamwork
  • CV
  • A brief description of why are you interested in tech and web design
  • Send over an example of a website with great design, and explain why
